Eva's market story

The sound, the noise people were making, the smell of the market when I walked past made me curious to see what it is all about.
I go to the gate, where the market took place, I could hear my Koro basking. I was sprinting through the crowd just to get to him. I could hear people whining and screaming ”I WANT THAT ONE, I WANT THIS” and also kids crying and complaining. Then I got tired so I slowed down.

As I walked over to him, I gave him a warm smile and also a hug but it was a very lousy one considering I was very tired from sprinting towards him.

A few moments later, he handed me some money, I didn’t waste any time and I run straight towards the food stands for something to eat.

During my run, I could see very happy families and some very irritated looking ones because of their  children.

I could see some trucks in a far distance and food scraps on the ground. The thing that annoyed me was the massive noisy crowd of people who were being impatient.

I realised how people were feeling. To me they were feeling happy because they got to buy things, and they might have been excited because they get to see what is new at the market. Some of the families would be annoyed mostly because their kids didn’t stop asking them if they can have heaps of things like food or toys. They were also having fun playing or having a family day out.

That day I felt the touch of the sun burning down on my face and my back, there was a gust of wind that cooled me down. I bumped into heaps of people from different cultures when I was walking around trying to find a shop.

I could smell something delicious. It smelled like a burger. So I thought to myself, should I buy a burger so I decided to buy one.

I kept walking towards the shop. Then I finally found the stand that was selling the burgers. I had to wait in front of heaps of inpatient people that wanted burgers it took a long time. When I got it, I took the first bite and it took my breath away it was that nice I had to eat the whole thing. Then I bought a kebab and that was very nice. It was really spicy chicken.

Then I went back through the screaming to get to the gate. When I was on my way home I was thinking to myself how long was I there for?

Newtown festival descriptive writing

The look on peoples faces, excited and blown away. The smiles, the cheers, and all the encouragement we got on stage makes me feel proud.

It is 2015. I am on the stage. I can see my family cheering me on so I feel like a super star . I was on the stage with all my friends and boys from school. We were performing kapa haka. Kapa haka is where you sing maori songs and the boys do the haka. The next thing I know we had already started the performance.

To see people really enjoying our performance made me really proud. To see my family cheering me on and to see my school having a good time really made me enjoy the performance. Having to lead each song was the best thing I ever got to do. My family was really proud of me for leading the songs and not getting stage fright.

When I was on the stage I could see all the shops and stands that were set up for us. The kids having fun on the bounce castle and crowds of people pushing each other just like they were in a rugby game. There were games at the festival as well.

When I was singing I could taste the wind blowing through my mouth. I also had butterflies flying around my stomach making me nervous. So I got a little bit hungry after the performance  I walked around found and a shop that selled kebabs I got one and it was delicious I loved it.

When I was on my little walk around I could smell  food getting fried. But the food I could smell the most was the Mcdonalds that was across the road. I could hear kids crying for what they want.  I could see people buying things.

At the end of our kapa haka performance I heard a boy named Brendan shout a maori chant that meant we were finished. That was the end of our performance at the newtown festival in wellington.

It was late. I could hear people closing up and I could no longer hear kids crying for what they what. I could no longer hear the sound of people shouting and singing to the music. So I thought I might be the only one here apart from the cleaners that were cleaning things up. So I want home to tell my mum all about it

Eva's P.E learning story

At my old school we were learning about how to stick together, using different strategies to make it a challenge and always share the ball and don’t keep the ball to yourself.

I always had a new goal each week when we did P.e. Some of my goals were to have fun, try my best and never give up. My teacher would always encourage me to persevere in games that I didn’t like, so that kind of made me like the games a little bit more.

The teacher would always give me advice after the game to help me get better. And the kids would help me out by telling me what to do if I get things wrong. And they just encourage me to keep trying and to do my best.

I would get feedback from the teachers and from the kids. Most of my feedback is good. My feedback was mostly just you did well today, sometimes my teacher would say you need to try harder next week.

In P.e sometimes we netball did warm ups, that was only if you were in the netball team. We also played other sports games and other warm ups. We would sometime just do things like squats and sometimes we would do stretches.

I was successful at trying to persevere in all the game even the ones that I did not like. I think I was pretty successful at trying my best each week. Also trying to encourage my team to do their best to beat the other team.

We had to use a good strategy to beat the other team. When we did not win the games we would not cry over a game or say the other team cheated, we would just get on with life a think about how we could beat them next time.

We also had to talk and shout when we were playing dodge ball. So that we could communicate with each other and know what we were planning to do, what we needed to start doing and how we can help our team out. When we do this we notice what is changing, how we will make it change even more. We notice that we will always start to change the strategy that we are using. So it will make it a challenge for the other team to win against us.

I think what makes me and my team successful is that we always work together to help each other when we get hurt when we are playing the game and when we don’t know how to play the game. My whole team puts in their all and they try there best, to play even if the game is hard or they don’t what to play they would always play any way they would always do it for the team.

I take a risk when we have new games to play. And I try to participate even in games that I do not enjoy.
